Biography

Dmitriy Khanukayev is an accomplished violinist and dedicated instructor with more than 30 years of teaching and professional performance experience. He holds a Master of Arts degree from the Azerbaijan Music Academy and continued his advanced musical studies at the Moscow Conservatory.

During his performing career, Dmitriy played with respected ensembles including the Dallas Opera Orchestra and the South Coast Symphony. His extensive orchestral background allows students to learn not only proper violin technique, tone and musicianship, but also the discipline and confidence required for successful performance.

Dmitriy has taught generations of musicians, including many years at Jim’s Music and Yamaha Music Center. He welcomes students of different ages and skill levels—from beginners learning their first notes to advancing violinists preparing orchestral music, auditions and solo repertoire.

His patient and encouraging lessons are tailored to each student, with emphasis on strong fundamentals, relaxed technique, beautiful tone, accurate intonation, rhythm, sight-reading and musical expression. Lessons are available in English or Russian.
